Bio

Dr. Southard is an interventional cardiologist with an interest in cardiovascular medicine. He sees patients in clinic, in the hospital and in consultation. He is the director of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Program and has been the principle investigator in many research related valve trials.

In addition his research interests focus on expanding care to patients in underserved areas and he is working with our Telemedicine program to continue cardiology consultation in that regard.

He also has an interest in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and was the principle investigator for the first ever cardiovascular stem cell trial here at UC Davis

Dr. Southard's research interests include Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Optical Coherence Tomography.
