Co-Investigators

Jinyi Qi, Prof. Dr.

  • Professor
  • Biomedical Engineering
Dr. Qi aims to develop advanced image formation and processing tools to push the boundary of molecular imaging using positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT). His lab combines in silico modeling of tracer kinetics, imaging system response and human observation to create new image reconstruction algorithms and design future imaging systems that provide higher sensitivity and specificity for lesion detection and staging. His work has specific applications in fighting cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Jonathan Sorger, Ph.D.

  • Vice President
  • Intuitive Surgical
Jonathan Sorger has over 20 years of experience in medical imaging, with a focus on using volumetric imaging as a tool to better understand physiologic processes and medical interventions. After studying bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego, Sorger received his PhD and MBA from Johns Hopkins University, where he used MRI to guide medical interventions related to heart disease. Jonathan then moved to Stanford University, where he assisted in the creation of the Bioengineering Department.

Jeffrey Allen Southard, M.D.

  • Associate Clinical Professor
  • Internal Medicine
Dr. Southard's research interests include Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Optical Coherence Tomography.
